Jim Coleman is an expert in urban economics with over 20 years’ experience in the field. He is developing OPM’s work in global urban development and urban economics, particularly in India, south Asia, and Africa. Jim’s areas of expertise include city competitiveness and resilience, viability modelling, urban regeneration, foreign direct investment, infrastructure and real estate economics, and labour markets. He has worked on large-scale projects for local and national governments including Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, Oman, South Africa, Lesotho, Kolkata Municipality, Chengdu Municipal Authority, Moscow City Government, and many others worldwide. Jim provides senior-level advice to national government ministries, major international real estate advisers, and global agencies such as the World Bank and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation.
