Biography
Joseph McKinney is a leading figure in the Governance-as-a-Service industry, specializing in enhancing governmental services through Special Economic Zones and Distributed Ledger Technologies.
He began his career in electoral politics, working on local, state, and national campaigns before entering the blockchain space in 2014. His work soon connected him with key figures in Zone development, leading him to found the Startup Societies Foundation (SSF), a nonprofit think tank focused on Zone policy. Under his leadership, SSF organized dozens of sold-out conferences featuring over 100 speakers.
Joseph is the coauthor of Founding Startup Societies: A Step-by-Step Guide and serves as a publisher at the Journal of Special Jurisdictions. He previously held roles as CEO of the Catawba Digital Economic Zone and Nuhanse Network.
