THE CENTER FOR DECENTRALIZATION:
STARTUP SOCIETIES NETWORK

The Startup Societies Network is the only think tank dedicated to studying and promoting decentralized governance. While other organizations may focus on blockchain technology, special jurisdictions, and new communities, only SSN works within all of these currents as though they are part of a larger river.

Startup Societies Network offers best practices and tools to promote decentralization, and has created a diverse and experienced network of thinkers and builders that are shaping the next generation of startup societies.

¿what we do?

Best practices and tools

Clear guidelines and effective tools lower barriers to investment and reduce friction in the market by promoting trust. We study and publish best practices through our research arm, the Institute for Competitive Governance (ICG), as well as developing and sharing useful tools, such as our Dashboard and open source law community.

Networks for collaboration

Common networks reduce the transactional costs of beginning new ventures by making it easier to find like-minded partners. We promote a “movement consciousness” of startup society entrepreneurs through conferences, popular content, and publishing news about the movement. Through these efforts, we have created a diverse and experienced network of partners who have come together to pursue their idea of startup societies.

Establishing partnerships

Buy-in from existing institutions is key to responsible startup society success. We partner with governments and established non-government institutions as key stakeholders, working to ensure local cooperation and support rather than conflict.

A NEW WAY FORWARD: THE STARTUP SOCIETIES NETWORK

Today, things are possible that were fever dreams only two years prior. Our interest in startup societies began with the fervent belief that decentralization is needed in an increasingly centralized world. We discovered an entirely new way of examining history, and now, an emerging industry dedicated to building new, decentralized communities.

With this shift comes reinvigoration, a refocusing that’s been long overdue. We are the Startup Societies Network — the only think tank dedicated to studying and promoting decentralized governance. While there are numerous organizations studying blockchain technology, special jurisdictions, new communities and the like, there is no organization that works within these currents as though they are part of a larger river.
