Crypto Cities Summit at Vitalia (2025)

The Crypto Cities Summit in Vitalia expanded in 2025 into a month-long residency known as Crypto Cities Month (June 2025). The June program moved beyond a conference format and functioned as a working environment where blockchain systems were integrated into the physical and legal infrastructure of Próspera ZEDE and Infinita City on Roatán.

The event focused on the Network State in practice, with discussions on self-organizing cities, digital voting, decentralized governance, and the use of Bitcoin as legal tender. Several case studies were used to anchor these discussions, including updates from Ciudad Morazán, the Zanzibar Digital Economic Zone, and the League of Free Cities, allowing participants to compare approaches to jurisdictional design, governance tooling, and interaction with existing states.

The Startup Societies Foundation played an active role in the program. Joe McKinney, alongside other legal engineers, focused discussions on how digital corporate registries could be connected to physical jurisdictions, drawing on experiments underway within Próspera ZEDE and Infinita City during the residency.
