Biography
Balaji Srinivasan is an entrepreneur, investor, and technologist recognized for his work at the intersection of cryptocurrency, governance, and emerging technologies. Formerly the CTO of Coinbase and a general partner at Andreessen Horowitz, he has been an early investor in a wide range of successful technology companies, including Alchemy, Anduril, Celestia, CoinTracker, Dapper Labs, Digital Ocean, OpenSea, Republic, Starkware, Superhuman, Varda, and Zora. He also played a central role in the launch of USDC while at Coinbase and was among the earliest backers of major crypto protocols such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, Avalanche, Chainlink, NEAR, Polygon, XMTP, and Zcash.
Srinivasan is the cofounder of Earn.com, acquired by Coinbase, Counsyl, acquired by Myriad, Teleport, acquired by Topia, and Coin Center. He is also president of Network School, a cofounder and board member of Coin Center, and the founder of Balajis.com, through which he has invested in technology startups since 2012. His career reflects a blend of entrepreneurial leadership and strategic investment, helping shape the growth of decentralized technology worldwide.
He holds a BS, MS, and PhD in Electrical Engineering as well as an MS in Chemical Engineering from Stanford University.
