Biography
Nathalie Mezza-Garcia is a visionary leader in Special Economic Zones, aquatecture, and blockchain governance. With a PhD on SEZs, sustainable aquatecture, and distributed ledgers in indigenous communities, she brings over eight years of experience bridging research, consultancy, and business development. Her work focuses on aligning diverse stakeholders, particularly local communities, to create lasting impact.
She is the founder of Seaphia, a consultancy specialized in SEZs and water-based projects, and serves as the chief operating officer of the Startup Societies Foundation. Nathalie previously held the same role at the Catawba Digital Economic Zone and Nuhanse Network, where she advanced new approaches to governance and economic development. In addition, she is the managing editor of the Journal of Special Jurisdictions, contributing to thought leadership in the field.
